Our natural dry stone walling stone is ideal for building estate walls, farm walls, garden walls, retaining walls, ha-has, and generally beautiful natural stone walls.

This natural stone is flat, hard, impermeable and frost resistant, and so is perfect for building large stable, strong walls.  These stone walls do not have a backing block, and so are free standing.  The stone needs to be perfect, and the stone mason needs to be a master craftsman for the dry stone wall to strong, stable and tight jointed.

Each stone is hand selected at the quarry, and dressed, enabling your onsite stone masons, and stone wallers to build a tight jointed, stable stone wall, fast.   This dramatically reduces the cost of building a wall, and ensures that it lasts for generations to enjoy.

Dry stone walling has the largest range of bed widths upto about 20 inches wide.   In order that the wall is stable, it needs to be built wide at the bottom, and narrower at the top, centralising the gravity.  Furthermore it is essential that the joints are tight, preventing any movement.

Today, there is a demand for smaller walls that demands smaller stone walling, with bed widths less than 10 inches. In order to help with stability, recessed (hidden) lime mortar is needed, especially where children might be climbing on the walls, or it is part of a building, or a ha-ha, or a retaining wall.

In Dorset, Somerset, as well as in the Cotswolds - Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Northamptonshire, there are some superb examples of dry stone walling with our Forest Marble stone. From Burford, to Badminton, to Bruton, to Bridport the dry stone walls have created idyllic rural landscapes. Today our dry stone walling, and stone walling, is being used throughout the UK creating natural structures for gardens, farms and estates.

Supplied in a Bulk Bag containing approx. 2sqm of stone with a mixture of natural and guillotined faces cut between 7-18 inches on bed and 1-3 inches thickness that is dressed and cut ready to be laid around 3 times faster than normal 'as dug' drystone.
